If i wanted to describe the perfect marble cake, it would be this one. I absolutely love the orange twist with the dark chocolate, but if you’re not a fan of orange and chocolate you can totally turn it into a regular marble cake (explained how below).

Marble Cake a L’Orange (and another version without orange)

Ingredients
  

  • 225 g room temp unsalted butter
  • 225 g flour
  • 225 g sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 4 eggs at room temp
  • 2 tbsp liquid milk
  • 3 tbsp sifter cocoa powder
  • 1 large orange zested
  • 1 tbsp orange juice
  • 50 g chopped dark chocolate

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 180C
  2. Beat butter, sugar, eggs, flour, baking powder, and vanilla together 
  3. Split the batter into two bowls
  4. In the first bowl mix into the batter the milk and cocoa powder
  5. In the second bowl mix the zest and the juice 
  6. Grease a loaf tin with tahini or butter and flour
  7. Scoop the batter alternating between them 
  8. Swirl with a toothpick or knife Top with the chocolate chipsBake in oven for 40-50 mins, until a toothpick inserted comes out dry
For the non orange twist
  1. In the first step, replace the milk with 3 tbsp instead of 2
  2. Once you split the batter, keep one with no additions and conitue with the cocoa powder in the other as you would
