If i wanted to describe the perfect marble cake, it would be this one. I absolutely love the orange twist with the dark chocolate, but if you’re not a fan of orange and chocolate you can totally turn it into a regular marble cake (explained how below).
Marble Cake a L’Orange (and another version without orange)

- 225 g room temp unsalted butter
- 225 g flour
- 225 g sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 4 eggs at room temp
- 2 tbsp liquid milk
- 3 tbsp sifter cocoa powder
- 1 large orange zested
- 1 tbsp orange juice
- 50 g chopped dark chocolate
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 180C
- Beat butter, sugar, eggs, flour, baking powder, and vanilla together
- Split the batter into two bowls
- In the first bowl mix into the batter the milk and cocoa powder
- In the second bowl mix the zest and the juice
- Grease a loaf tin with tahini or butter and flour
- Scoop the batter alternating between them
- Swirl with a toothpick or knife Top with the chocolate chipsBake in oven for 40-50 mins, until a toothpick inserted comes out dry
For the non orange twist
- In the first step, replace the milk with 3 tbsp instead of 2
- Once you split the batter, keep one with no additions and conitue with the cocoa powder in the other as you would
Looks amazing!
Can’t wait to make it😍
if I want to use chocolate instead of cocoa powder, what would be the measurements please? TIA ☺️
