Beef Stroganoff

Ingredients
  

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 onion sliced
  • 300 g mushrooms wiped and sliced
  • 500 g fillet or faux fillet cut into strips
  • salt and freshly ground pepper
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 cup white wine OPTIONAL
  • 2 tbsp sour cream
  • 100 ml cooking cream
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley

Method
 

  1. Melt butter in a pan, add onions and fry for 5 minutes
  2. Add mushrooms, season with salt and black pepper, and fry for another 2-3 minutes
  3. Add steak to the pan, season, and fry until pink. Do not over cook
  4. Add the mustard and sauté with the other ingredients
  5. Add in the white wine and let simmer for a couple of minutes
  6. Stir in the sour cream and cooking cream, let simmer gently
  7. Sprinkle with parsley and serve with white rice and grated fried potato
